Dental program awarded by county

The National Association of County and City Health Officials recently honored the Preventive Dental Health Program of Henderson County Department of Public Health with its "Model Practice Award."

The Model Practice Award recognizes excellence in the field of public health. The Preventive Dental Health Program was selected based on the merits of its innovative and collaborative response to a local public health need and for demonstrating its value to the community through evaluation.

The Preventive Dental Health Program operates through Henderson County's Department of Public Health and is funded by Smart Start of Henderson County. For more information about this program, or other programs funded by Smart Start of Henderson County, visit www.smartstarthc.org or call 693-1580.
