Amena Kate Trappen, 98, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Beystone Health and Rehab in Fletcher.

Born in Yorkshire, England, she moved to Henderson County from Long Island, N.Y., in 1977.

She was the beloved wife of the late James N. Trappen who went to be with the Lord in 1978. A daughter of the late Horace and Lillian Burr Fulford, she was a homemaker and a member of Blue Ridge Bible Church in Fletcher. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who took great pride in her family.

She is survived by, her daughter, Joan Katzenberger and her husband, Werner, of Mills River; a son, Ron W. Trappen and his wife, Judy, of Long Island, N.Y.; and a sister, Joan Lyons of Fly Creek, N.Y. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

A funeral will at at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thos, Shepherd’s Church Street Chapel with Pastor Peter Jones officiating. Burial will be private. Memorials in her name may be made to Blue Ridge Bible Church Box 1716, Fletcher, N.C. 28732. An online register book is available at www.thosshepherd.com.
