Deputies have recovered about $20,000 worth of stolen antiques after two men were stopped during a license check Saturday.
Henderson County deputies set up a license check point along Crab Creek Road at about 1 a.m. on Saturday, according to Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Capt. Charlie McDonald.
McDonald said that during the traffic stop deputies arrested two thieves and recovered about $20,000 worth of stolen antiques.
“Deputies were suspicious when they stopped Jack Christopher Glenn and he produced a South Carolina driver’s license and a North Carolina identification card,” McDonald said. “Deputies were able to determine that Glenn’s North Carolina operator’s license was suspended.”
During the traffic stop deputies observed several pieces of antique furniture, pry bars and bolt cutters in the truck, according to McDonald.
“A passenger in the truck, Steven Sheehan, told deputies that they were hauling furniture for a family member,” McDonald said. “A deputy, familiar with both suspect’s criminal history, notified the criminal investigation department to come and assist in further investigation.”
Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Henderson County jail. Glenn is being held under a 50,000 dollar bond and Sheehan under 25,000.
