Pleasant people enhance experience

To The Editor: I am always amazed at the smiling faces and cheerful greetings that I encounter daily walking up and down Big Glassy at Carl Sandburg’s Connemara. I get a high just being there even if no one else is around.

But there is an extra dimension to be experienced from those that I meet on the trail.

For example: there’s Lisa, Jack, Pam, George, Klitia, Brad, Mary, Collen, Christine, Sandy, Michael, Meg, Rusty, Katherine, Bill, Ann, Marge, Sara, Eric, Charlie, Kim, Judith, Sandy, Gloria, Millard, Richard, Gail, Jane, Sue, Nell, Al, Yorgis, Barbara, Karen, Doris, Ken, Ron, Marian, Jim, Amanda, Amy, Emily, Iris, Isabell, Rob, Michelle and Marisol, to name a few.

There are many whose names I don’t know or remember, but are still very pleasant and add to the experience.

And, to add a little more excitement to the experience, I even spotted a black bear crossing the trail ahead of me Saturday evening.

It is so good to live in a country where places like these are preserved for our pleasure and experience. It is also great to see so many older people and little children enjoying the goats, the “Big House” and the ducks on the lake.
