Mumpower moves forward in Campaign

Republican congressional candidate Carl Mumpower is closing in on his goal of eight counties to support his "Principles First" campaign. The Asheville city council member wants eight of the county parties in the 11th Congressional District to pledge support to the core principles of the Republican Party.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Mumpower added McDowell and Transylvania counties, bringing the total to seven.
"I want the people of Western North Carolina to know that the word 'Republican' stands for something real and something reliable," Mumpower said.
