Will Blozan, president of both the Eastern Native Tree Society and Appalchian Arborists, will recount his experiences researching the largest eastern hemlocks in the Southern Appalchian Forest, talk of the ecological importance of these trees, their future under insect attack and best treatment practices. The cost is $12.
“Growing Show-Quality Chrysanthemums” will be offered from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.
Ray McKenzie-Wilson, president of the N.C. Chrysanthemum Society, will demonstrate how to propagate and grow these spectacular show flowers. This program is free.
